Quantum interference in finite-size mesoscopic rings

چکیده

The Ginzburg-Landau theory is used to model the order parameter of a finite-size mesoscopic ring investigate effects onset screening currents on transport incoming ones. magnetic flux breaks symmetry between input and output stubs by means an induced spatial ordering upon diamagnetic paramagnetic supercurrents circulating in ring. distribution those drives interference incoming/outgoing resulting into sinusoidal variation resistance as function even if density quasiparticles not modified external field.

Quantum oscillations in mesoscopic rings and anomalous diffusion

We consider the weak localization correction to the conductance of a ring connected to a network. We analyze the harmonics content of the Al’tshuler-Aronov-Spivak (AAS) oscillations and we show that the presence of wires connected to the ring is responsible for a behaviour different from the one predicted by AAS. The physical origin of this behaviour is the anomalous diffusion of Brownian traje...

Supercurrent States in 1d Finite-size Rings

We consider topological supercurrent excitations (SC) in 1D mesoscopic rings. Under certain conditions such excitations are well-defined except for (i) a tunneling between resonating states with clockwise and anti-clockwise currents, which may be characterized by the amplitude ∆, and (ii) a decay of SC assisted by phonons of the substrate, both effects being macroscopically small. Our approach ...

Modulating unpolarized current in quantum spintronics: Visibility of spin-interference effects in multichannel Aharonov-Casher mesoscopic rings

The conventional unpolarized current injected into a quantum-coherent semiconductor ring attached to two non-magnetic external leads can be modulated from perfect conductor to perfect insulator limit via electrically tunable Rashba spin-orbit (SO) coupling, thereby avoiding the usage of any ferromagnetic elements or external magnetic fields. This requires that ballistic propagation of electrons...

Coulomb drag in mesoscopic rings

We develop a Luttinger-liquid theory of the Coulomb drag of persistent currents flowing in concentric mesoscopic rings by incorporating nonlinear corrections to the electron dispersion relation. We demonstrate that at low temperatures, interactions between electrons in different rings generate an additional phase and thus alter the period of Aharonov-Bohm oscillations. The resulting nondissipat...
